FEATURES OF NCLP
Highlights
Metric melas are also conducted in
Vellore district and so far 100 melas have been conducted in various villages to
improve the arithmetic skills through games.
Regular holiday camps are organized
in Coimbatore district.
Selvi.
Ramalakshmi, a student of
NCLP (ILO-IPEC) special school at Sivakasi was selected as ‘Young Scientist’
for International Level Conference. The Research Report of Selvi.Ramalakshmi on
‘Procedure on food’ was selected and placed before National Level conference
held at Mysore from 27.12.2002 to 31.12.2002 and the report was selected as Best
Research Report.
The President of India, Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam had appreciated
the NCLP.
A three day congress of
rehabilitated child labour was organized by the NCLP Coimbatore in 2002 for 1500 children from all the NCLP
projects
The special school children are
honoured in the Children’s Day, Republic Day, Independence Day celebrations at
the District Headquarters
Several meetings have been
conducted with the employers associations, Trade unions and employees not to
employ child labour
.
The system of Nilapalli has been
established and it is conducted once in a month for sensitizing the community
against the system of child labour.
Employers Associations in
Coimbatore district have been approached for formation of consortium of
employers associations for the elimination of child labour in the
district/industries concerned.
In Pudukottai District, one mother
group (Erukkumani patti) was provided a
Granite Quarry at Rapoosal village for 5
years.
